What is coaching?
Coaching is a popular form of therapy that focuses on helping you set goals and work towards achieving them. Over the last 15 years, we have worked with a wide range of professionals, athletes, thespians, creatives and entrepreneurs to help them perform better, reach their goals and live happier more fulfilled lives.
Success in our specific field is partly about the skill we have refined but also about our mindset and self-talk. For example, we could be a talented and experienced stage actor but if our negative self-talk convinces us we are going to forget our lines at a crucial moment, it is more likely to actually happen.
What can coaching help with?
If you have an area of your life you’d like to improve or a goal you want to achieve, coaching can help. Here are some common areas in which we’ve supported clients with coaching:
Career - Changing career, improving professional performance, starting a new business or working towards a promotion
Health - Maximising physical performance, improving fitness or working towards a particular health goal
Motivation - Requiring a boost of motivation to help us work towards a particular life goal such as attending university, starting a new career or beginning to date
Work balance - Needing to learn how to manage stress and ensure we have a good work-life balance so we can be happy and fulfilled in all areas of our lives
Relationships - Entering a new relationship with a positive and optimistic mindset, improving our attitude towards dating to help us confidently handle the dating world or helping improve our attitude towards an existing relationship to help us commit or take it to the next step
Self-confidence - Improving our self-confidence, self-image and self-esteem so that we deem ourselves worthy of living the life we want and achieving our goals
Communication - This could be working towards healthy communication with friends and family, communication in a professional setting or wanting to be better at public speaking
Corporate coaching - Developing the skills to handle situations in the corporate world, and the confidence to appear professional and in control at all times
How does coaching work?
At Hampshire Hypnotherapy and Counselling Centre, we combine Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapy with traditional Coaching methods to achieve a quick, genuine and long-lasting change. We use coaching methods to identify any emotional or psychological obstacles that are in the way of you achieving your goals, then we incorporate hypnotherapy methods to reiterate the new thoughts and behaviours to your subconscious. This provides a quick, effective and long-lasting change.
We can tailor your coaching plan to work for you, if you have a simple and straightforward goal, we can work on this in 1-3 sessions. Or if the goal or outcome is a bit more complex and nuanced, we can develop a longer-term plan to support you.
You will be asked to complete work in between sessions to maximise the outcome, such as reading, viewing and writing exercises. Our coaching sessions are designed to help you be proactive, motivated and overcome any obstacles so you can live the life you’ve always dreamed of.
